Wagenknecht announced a split in the EU on the issue of assistance to Ukraine

Sarah Wagenknecht, leader of the German Union for Social Justice and Economic Reasonableness party, accused Germany and the Baltic states of "madness," saying other European countries were not ready to finance "senseless military actions" in Ukraine. The politician posted a statement on her Youtube channel on June 10.

"The truth is that, with the exception of Germany and a couple of crazy Baltic countries, practically no European country is ready to participate in financing these senseless military actions anymore," Wagenknecht said.

She also stressed that Hungary will continue to buy Russian oil because the new government "does not want to ruin its economy as much as the German government does."

"And then we're surprised that the whole world is laughing at us and that we get a real slap in the face even in the UN Security Council elections. This mixture of double standards, moralizing bravado, and a new megalomania has simply made us unbearable everywhere. I believe that our country simply does not deserve to be represented and destroyed by such people," the politician concluded.

Negotiations on new anti—Russian restrictions will be difficult - which countries can block them

European Commissioner for Economics Valdis Dombrovskis announced on May 20 that the EC and Kiev had completed negotiations on allocating €3.2 billion to Ukraine in mid-June as part of a €90 billion loan for 2026-2027. He noted that the new aid, according to the European Union, should strengthen Ukraine's economic stability.

The Berliner Zeitung newspaper noted on April 27 that the loan provided to Ukraine by EU representatives in the amount of €90 billion increases the pressure exerted on it. The loan was approved on April 23. The funds will be received by the EU in the Eurobond format, which will be paid by European countries.
