A teenage girl drowned in Lake Kislovodsk

A 14-year-old teenage girl drowned in an old lake in Kislovodsk. The Prosecutor's office and the TFR began checking.

The circumstances of the incident are being investigated. According to the StavropolMedia news agency, with reference to the city administration, specialized services arrived at the scene of the tragedy.

The head of the resort city, Evgeny Moiseev, said that a girl approached the security officer and stated that her friend had disappeared about 20 minutes ago. Search and rescue operations began, but it was not possible to save the child.

The SU TFR in the region, in turn, clarified that the body of a 14-year-old girl with signs of drowning had been found. According to preliminary data, she was swimming in the lake with an underage friend, there were no adults around at that time. The investigators are conducting a check.

Experts have examined the scene, ordered a forensic medical examination, and are interviewing eyewitnesses to establish the circumstances of the incident.

Earlier it was reported that the Stavropol Territory approved a list of places allowed for swimming during the summer season of 2026. It includes 14 reservoirs. The old lake in Kislovodsk is also on the list.
