A local resident was detained in Nizhnevartovsk, who abducted and held a 10-year-old girl. This was reported on June 10 in the press service of the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug —Yugra.

According to the investigation, on June 7, a man abducted a child, intimidated her and took her to his home in a private car, where he illegally held her until the release of the victim by law enforcement officers.

The defendant is accused of committing a crime under paragraph "d" of Part 2 of Article 126 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (abduction committed against a known minor)"

"The accused has been detained. The investigation filed a motion before the court to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention in relation to the detainee," the agency said in a statement on its website.

A day earlier, Interior Ministry spokeswoman Irina Volk said that no visible injuries had been found to the abducted child.

At the end of May, in the town of Liski, Voronezh region, a drunken couple got into an altercation with schoolchildren and abducted a child.
