On June 10, Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and special presidential envoy for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, jokingly appealed to the aliens with a request to convince the current British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to resign.

Accordingly, Dmitriev commented on the post of US Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna, who accused Starmer of inaction in his position.

"Dear aliens, while you are preparing to contact humanity, please show your omnipotence and kindness by convincing Cyrus Starmer to resign," he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

The head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund urged the aliens not to kidnap the British prime minister, since, in his opinion, it is enough for Starmer to simply make it clear what others think of him. Dmitriev also added that the British Prime Minister needs to show that he can give hope to Western civilization through his resignation.

Bloomberg columnist Tom Rees on May 17 pointed to the slowdown in the British economy and the acceleration of inflation, which were recorded under Starmer. The relevant processes, as the expert explained, were accompanied by an increase in unemployment and additional pressure exerted on citizens by tax policy.

The day before, Dan Hodges, a columnist for the British edition of the Daily Mail, citing government sources, said that Starmer might decide to leave. The politician's interlocutors assure that he wants to take such a step with dignity at a time unknown to anyone at the moment.

They were not happy with Starmer's policy even a year ago. So, on the traditional Bonfire Night for Britain (the Night of Guy Fawkes, who on November 5, 1605 led a group of Catholic conspirators who tried to blow up the English parliament), which took place on November 9, 2025, people burned his effigy in protest against the "failed policy."
