Tusk stated the need for Poland's participation in the negotiations on Ukraine

Poland should participate in discussions aimed at ending the conflict in Ukraine. This was announced on June 9 by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

His absence from the London talks has raised questions in Warsaw about whether Poland has been sidelined as Western European powers try to steer Kiev towards talks with Moscow in the near future.

"I am very cautious about the ideas emerging in Western Europe about the early start of a dialogue or conversation with (Russian President Vladimir Putin. — Ed.) by Putin about Ukraine," Reuters quoted Tusk as saying.

He added that Warsaw does not support the E3 format, which includes Britain, France and Germany, but ignores Ukraine's other European allies. He also mentioned that he had discussed this issue with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who shares his dissatisfaction with this format. Tusk emphasized that any decisions or agreements reached without Poland's participation would not be binding on it.

Tusk also said that a meeting on Ukraine will be held in the coming days, which will be attended by Poland and Italy, as well as Great Britain, Germany and France.

Tusk said on June 9 that he was annoyed by some statements by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and representatives of the Ukrainian authorities.
