The series "Dear Willie" won the TEFI Award

Released on REN TV, the political detective "Dear Willy" won the national television award TEFI on June 9.

The story of the secret agreement between the General Secretary of the CPSU Mikhail Gorbachev and German Chancellor Willy Brandt against the background of the events of the Cold War won the nomination "TV movie or mini-series" lasting up to four episodes.

"I didn't write the script, the script was written by the story itself, because the idea of the series is based on the true story that took place in Soviet-German relations in the 60s, early 70s. It was very easy to write the script, it was enough not to deviate from the story," said screenwriter Igor Prokopenko.

Today, TEFI is the main award for professionals in the television industry. There are 52 nominations in the competition this year.

The Orpheus statuette was also awarded to Channel Five's Scarlet Sails project. He won in the Entertainment Broadcasting category. Izvestia correspondent Alexander Fedorchak was posthumously recognized as the best reporter.

The series "Dear Willie" also won the award of the Association of Film and TV Producers on May 20. During the ceremony, the hall also honored the memory of Igor Zolotovitsky, the former rector of the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater Studio School, who was posthumously awarded the award for Best Supporting Actor in the series Shakespeare Street.
