Nebenzia stated the need for a diplomatic settlement around Iran

Russia calls on the United Nations Security Council (UN) to focus efforts on a diplomatic settlement of the situation around Iran. This statement was made on June 9 by Russia's permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzia at a meeting of the Security Council.

"We call on all members of the Council and its chairman to stop adding fuel to the fire and focus on efforts to promote a political and diplomatic settlement around Iran, which already involves a number of constructive states, including our Pakistani colleagues," he said.
