The historical festival "Times and Epochs" has opened in the capital. The event will last until June 14 and will unfold at more than 30 central and district venues, said Deputy Mayor of Moscow Natalia Sergunina.

Visitors will enjoy reconstructions of famous battles, master classes, lectures, exhibitions, and theatrical performances. Some of the events will be timed to coincide with Russia Day. "More than a thousand reenactors will participate in the festival. They will introduce residents and guests of the capital to everyday life and key events of different periods: from the era of Ancient Russia to the twentieth century," said Sergunina.

The flagship site in the Mitino Landscape Park will host daily reconstructions of the events of the Patriotic War of 1812, including the battle for the city of Maloyaroslavets. In addition, you will be able to watch the training of the Russian and French cavalry, as well as listen to lectures on the culture of the XIX century.

The atmosphere of Ancient Russia of the 9th–13th centuries has been created in Raduga Park. Blacksmithing, archery, tannery and candle workshops were set up here. Visitors are invited to get acquainted with traditional crafts, as well as to watch large-scale battles between squads and principalities.

The events at the Moskino Film Park will be dedicated to the Russian Empire on the eve of 1914. Military exercises will be shown here and an exhibition of equipment and weapons will be opened.

Pokrovskoye-Streshnevo Park will host concerts, street performances, literary readings, performances by gymnasts and mimes. A common theme will be the theatrical art of the early 20th century.

A special project "Behind the Scenes of History" became part of the program: the exhibition on Revolution Square will tell about how cameramen and photographers worked during the Great Patriotic War. An exhibition inspired by the culture of the Silver Age unfolded on Chistoprudny Boulevard.

The Times and Epochs Festival is organized as part of the Summer in Moscow project, the key event of the season. The main theme of this year is "Time to be together".
