Earlier, on June 5, it was reported that businesses had asked banks to take the same approach to providing credit holidays to SMEs. This was stated by Sergey Katyrin, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, in an interview with Izvestia at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum (SPIEF). According to him, if the relevant decision is made at the government level, it should be implemented by all market participants according to the same rules, without additional interpretations and differences in application. Credit holidays remain a sought-after business support tool, so it is advisable to extend their validity, he believes. As Katyrin pointed out, despite the fact that it may be less profitable for banks to provide such measures, the preservation of enterprises and jobs remains a priority.
