Train No. 97/98 between Moscow and Simferopol, which was scheduled to depart on June 11 at 00:55, was canceled. This was announced on June 9 by the Grand Service Express carrier company.

"Train No. 97/98, which was supposed to leave Moscow on June 11 at 00:55, is canceled due to the fact that earlier the flight of this train to Moscow was canceled," the carrier said in a message on the Maks messenger channel.

The company noted that employees contact passengers by phone and inform them about the changes. Ticket holders will be able to issue a refund or use alternative trains to travel to the Republic of Crimea.

On June 8, the head of Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, announced that a drone had attacked a passenger train from Moscow to Simferopol. The driver was injured, his assistant was killed, and the passengers were not injured. Nine trains traveling to Crimea and in the opposite direction were delayed due to the attack. Later, the Tavria train routes were temporarily changed on the peninsula.

The prosecutor's office took control of the situation. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces strike on a train in Crimea complicates attempts at a peaceful settlement in Ukraine. According to him, the Russian side remains open to negotiations, but Kiev itself is doing everything to slow down the process of resolving the crisis.
