The second stage of the Russia cycling race was held in the Vladimir region

On June 6, the League of Heroes, with the support of the Russian Cycling Federation and the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, held the second stage of the Russia multi–day cycling race in the Vladimir Region. This time, the start united two cities at once – Vladimir and Suzdal. More than 150 athletes took part in the event. The bike race was held with the support of Stoloto, the largest distributor of state lotteries.

"We are very pleased that the second stage of the Russia Cycling race was held with its characteristic flavor and united two of the most important cities in Russia from a historical and cultural point of view – Vladimir and Suzdal. The participants covered more than 85 kilometers in a unique ethnographic environment. It is this feature that makes our cycling race such a unique project, which we believe will expand and scale more and more from stage to stage," said Nazari Kolomiets, head of sports projects at the League of Heroes.

The second stage took place along the ancient merchant highway connecting Vladimir and Suzdal, known as the Great Vladimir Road, and was accompanied by a diverse cultural program with performances by local musical groups and a gastronomic festival. The gastrofestival was held with the support and organization of the Central Union of the Russian Federation.

Along the way, the participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the most iconic regional sights, and the finish took place on the central square of Suzdal, near the Kremlin. The winners of the second stage were Dmitry Shevarov for men (with a score of 02:13:14) and Ekaterina Redko for girls (02:27:36). In addition, Sergey Pritula, a veteran of the Russian Military with a prosthetic arm, took part in the launch. The results of the winners and prize-winners of the stage are fixed and will be taken into account based on the results of the entire cycling race in the absolute standings among men and women.

In addition, in Suzdal, participation in the cycling festival was available for other cycling enthusiasts – a large-scale bike ride through the most iconic sights of the city attracted more than 1,000 people.

The next stage of the multi-day cycling race "Russia" will be held in the Yaroslavl region on June 20.
