Omsk hockey club (HC) Avangard has signed a one-year contract with Canadian striker Joshua Livo. This was announced on June 9 by the club's press service.

"Joshua Livo will add sharpness and variability to the team in attack and when playing the majority. An important factor in signing the contract was the desire of the player, who was ready to move to Avangard during the last season," the club's Telegram channel said.

Last season, Livo played for Traktor Chelyabinsk, where he scored 65 points (26 goals and 39 assists) in 62 regular season matches, and in the playoffs he recorded four more points in five games. Previously, the Canadian also played for Salavat Yulaev, where he set a Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) record by scoring 49 goals in one regular season.

Before moving to Europe, Livo played in the NHL, where he was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs and also played for the Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames, Carolina Hurricanes and St. Louis Blues.

On the same day, it became known that Vadim Shipachev, the best scorer in the history of the KHL, would continue his career at the Ufa club Salavat Yulaev. He holds the league record for the most points, assists, and games played.
