The former commander of American forces in Europe, Lieutenant General Ben Hodges, acknowledged the ineffectiveness of Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems (SAMs) against Russian missile weapons. He stated this on his YouTube channel.

"None of them were hit by Patriot batteries, which the United States provided specifically to protect Kiev from such attacks," Hodges said, commenting on the recent strike by the Russian armed forces in Ukraine.

Hodges noted that other Western-made complexes integrated into the Ukrainian air defense system failed to cope with the task. He stated that the current generation of NATO air defense systems proved powerless in the face of modern Russian missile potential.

The problem for American radars was created by the tactics of simultaneous use of low-flying cruise missiles X-101 and hypersonic "Daggers". The control systems were overloaded with targets coming at different heights and speeds.

Bloomberg reported on June 4 that Kiev is under stress due to Russian ballistic missiles. It is clarified that due to the conflict in the Middle East, the Ukrainian conflict has receded into the background for the United States.
