Yekaterinburg will become the musical capital of Russia for one night. Already on June 19, the Ural Music Night music festival will be held in the city, where the audience decides for themselves what they want to listen to. On June 9, Izvestia correspondent Nina Kataeva told the details.

As the city falls asleep, music wakes up, the same music that turns Yekaterinburg into one giant open—air stage once a year. There are only a few days left before the main musical event of the summer, the Ural Music Night festival. The audience will hear rock, hip-hop, classical music and techno.

Parks, squares and squares are becoming musical — more than a hundred stages where 2 thousand artists will declare themselves at the top of their voices. The leitmotif of the festival this year was the 40th anniversary of the Sverdlovsk rock club, so two rock stages will be installed here at once, on which young artists and "forever young" will sing.

"This is such a hook for Yekaterinburg, because it's really unique, a lot of guests come to this event, because I've never seen anything like this before," said Sergey Bobunets, a rock musician and leader of the Semantic Hallucinations group.

The musicians of the Chaif group have played everywhere, but they will have their debut on the stage of the night festival. At dawn, the headliners will perform a song that has long become the anthem of the festival — "Ray of the Golden Sun".

"There's going to be a Bach orchestra, and they have sheet music, and we need to hit those notes. And we decided to learn in the same key, just like Muslim Magomayev's. It turned out that the song was very difficult," said Chaif leader Vladimir Shakhrin.

Yulia Savicheva and the Pizza group will perform their hits. The guys from NLO promise not only their viral "Dancing", but also the premiere of a new album.

"There will be a new track that will be released on June 12, "I'll Decide for Myself," said Evgeny Shamov, a member of the NLO group.

There will be many new names.

"I was playing on the embankment, some guy in a cap was passing by, he said: "You're cool, I'm going to have a stage at the theater, they drove us to the Music Night. Am I a fool to refuse? Of course not!" — shared the vocalist of the group "Drunk" Ivan Turov.

Headphones will be the most useless accessory in the city for almost a day. The perfect playlist will be selected by the streets themselves. There are so many genres that the festival has already become a family event.

"There will be several family locations this year. One of them is our wonderful Sverdlovsk State Children's Philharmonic, which makes three whole stages," said Ekaterina Shubenko, director of the Ural Music Night festival.

And it's all free — there won't be any tickets. This is the main principle of the Ural Music Night.

"We are starting from the fact that all the stages should be accessible within walking distance, and people coming to the center of Yekaterinburg could "catch up" and accidentally stumble upon some stage," explained Ekaterina Pologova, executive director of Ural Music Night.

"The festival has become a socially significant platform. You can find friends there, you can fall in love, get married, you can learn something new for yourself - this is a very big "happening" against the background of great musicians," said Vadim Samoilov, the leader of the Agatha Christie group.

For the first time, a gastronomic festival will be added to the music festival: you can not only hear the rhythm of the city, but also taste it.

"Every chef has worked on this, he has chosen for himself how he feels about music, what he likes. There are a lot of dishes dedicated to the Chaif group," said Sergey Miroshnikov, concept chef, ideologist of the Authentic Ural Cuisine project.

The idea of combining music and cuisine was the last thing Evgeny Gorenburg proposed. The producer and founder of the Ural Music Night died in April at the age of 67 after a long illness. But his flagship project will continue to live on.

"Everything is working like clockwork, and the festival will take place, I think, at the highest level, and everyone will try to make Evgeny Lvovich [Gorenburg] happy," Bobunets said.

The grandiose show will take place on June 19 with the support of the REN TV channel. According to the most conservative estimates, 100 thousand people will attend the 12th night of music. And most importantly, everyone will hear what they really want to hear.

In Yekaterinburg, the metro station Ploshchad 1905 was renamed 19.06 on June 1. This happened on the eve of the Ural Music Night. The new name refers to the date of the musical event — June 19th. The announcements are now voiced by the leader of Chaif, Vladimir Shokhin. He and his team will be closing the festival. In addition, an exhibition chronicling Ural Music Night will be opened on the station's platform.
