A magnitude 4.9 earthquake has struck southern Iran.
A magnitude 4.9 earthquake was recorded in southern Iran, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center reported on its website on June 8.
According to him, the epicenter of the earthquake was located 113 km northeast of the city of Bandar Abbas, the port area of which is located in the north of the Strait of Hormuz. The source of the tremors was at a depth of 10 km.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported on March 7 that an earthquake of magnitude 4.1 was recorded in Iran. The epicenter of the seismic event was located 74 km west of the city of Bandar Abbas with a population of about 350-380 thousand people.
