The prosecutor's office of the Nizhnekolymsky district has submitted to the court a criminal case against a 58-year-old resident of Yakutia, who is accused of illegal extraction of water resources. The man caught 245 individuals of sturgeon in the Kolyma River.

According to the YakutiaMedia news agency, the accused went fishing in February and March 2026. The damage to aquatic biological resources is estimated at 117.9 million rubles. The man sold the catch to a resident of another region of Russia, who was detained during transportation.

The prosecutor's office has approved the indictment in the criminal case against the Yakut man. The criminal case against the fish buyer is under investigation.

In the Lipetsk region, a criminal case has been opened against two men who were fishing with nets on the territory of the Lipetsk Nature Zoological Reserve.
