The driver of a Volvo car killed a pedestrian on Kashirskoye highway in Moscow. This was announced by the press service of the Moscow State Traffic Inspectorate on Monday, June 8.

According to preliminary information, the car ran over a pedestrian who was running across the roadway at an unidentified crossing point.

"As a result of a road accident, a pedestrian died on the spot from his injuries," the Moscow City News agency quoted the report as saying.

Traffic police officers and an investigative task force are working at the scene of the incident, Moscow 24 writes.

Earlier, on May 27, on Novoukhtomskoye highway, the driver of a rented car ran over two pedestrians at a controlled pedestrian crossing, after which he fled the scene of the accident.

Earlier, on May 26, the head of the taxi drivers' union, Yevgeny Grak, told NSN that citizens often face unjustified fines from carsharing companies, as well as companies suffering from unscrupulous users, so allocating carsharing to self-driving transport would help resolve the issue.
