The Foreign Minister of Bangladesh announced his desire for cooperation with the Russian Federation in the nuclear field.

Bangladesh is interested in expanding cooperation with Russia in the space and nuclear fields. This was stated on June 8 by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the South Asian state Khalilur Rahman during a press conference following talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

"We express interest in Russia's achievements in such areas as nuclear technology and space technology. We have great opportunities for cooperation in such areas," he said.

Rahman said that his country has a lot of qualified personnel who can help the Russian side. He added that Dhaka welcomes joint scientific programs and innovations with Moscow, as they are an important area of bilateral cooperation.

Lavrov, in turn, said that Russia intends to mark the upcoming 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Bangladesh with specific agreements in the trade, economic, military, technical and cultural spheres. He stated that he would discuss with Rahman all the necessary steps for this.
