Headaches during the new moon are caused by autosuggestion; from a medical point of view, the phases of the moon do not affect well-being. Pavel Khoroshev, a neurologist at the Military Medical Academy, told Izvestia about this.

"Humans are very susceptible to global influences, including auto-suggestion. If a person often hears about the power of the Moon, new moon, and so on, then he begins to believe in it. There are no physical and physiological reasons for a person's well-being to change in any way during the new moon," he believes.

At the same time, according to the expert, some people may actually sleep worse during the full moon, but this is due to simple physiology.

"There is only one factor that affects people during the full moon. This is a little more light that is reflected from the moon. It also prevents people from sleeping. But this inconvenience is easily solved by curtains," Khoroshev said.
