Russians called the recommendations of neighbors an important factor in choosing a master

More than a quarter of Russians (27%) who applied for repair, construction, or landscaping services over the past year consider the recommendations of friends and neighbors to be the main factor in trusting a craftsman or company. This is evidenced by the results of the Avito Services study.

"Even in the context of global digitalization, recommendations from friends retain a huge role in the market," said Svetlana Filimonova, head of the Repair and Construction category at Avito Services. The company has launched testing of the "Neighbors Recommend" mechanics based on a digital recommendation script. The algorithm allows users to find trusted specialists and companies in the field of repair and construction, whose services were previously used by residents of neighboring houses. In addition to the standard search results, the user is offered a selection of performers who worked nearby and received high customer ratings. The mechanics of recommendations from neighbors are tested in the categories of construction, repair and decoration, as well as garden and landscaping, and are available to a part of the platform's audience.

According to the company's estimates, the total volume of construction and repair services in Russia in 2026 is about 4.5 trillion rubles. Avito Services calls this area one of the most dynamically developing in the market.

According to the platform, users conclude an average of about 1 million transactions per month in the construction and renovation segment, from turnkey home construction and apartment renovation to the services of plumbers, electricians and home improvement specialists. In May 2026, the number of such transactions reached 1.3 million.
