Journalist Bose accused Merz and Starmer of "sucking up" to Zelensky

On June 7, Irish journalist Chay Bose called the recent meeting of European leaders with him in London "sucking up" to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.

The reason was a photo posted by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, in which he, along with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron, stands next to Zelensky.

"Three of Europe's most unpopular leaders in the last generation, sucking up to a dictator who has not participated in elections for more than seven years. This is what the "defense of democracy" looks like in a dying Europe," Bose said on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

Cypriot journalist Alex Christoforou said on June 7 that Zelensky's visit to London to participate in talks with Starmer, Macron and Merz would not be beneficial. The journalist stressed that European states are striving to freeze the conflict in Ukraine.
