EVM, in partnership with Yandex, is launching the all-wheel drive hybrid crossover UMO 8 on the Russian market. This follows their company's announcement, which was received by Izvestia on June 8.

The car is assembled at the production facilities of the Moscow Moskvich plant. The UMO 8 is equipped with a sequential hybrid powerplant consisting of a 156 hp gasoline engine and two electric motors. The total power of the car is 340 hp. The range of the crossover is 867 km, acceleration to 100 km / h takes 6.7 seconds.

UMO 8 is equipped with Yandex navigation and multimedia services and Alice, an AI assistant. With its help, the driver will be able to control not only music and navigation, but also a number of car functions — for example, to turn on the seat massage, cool the interior or open the trunk. New Yandex Maps with improved navigation, online traffic lights and an EHS map, a screen with split navigation zones and music, and the display of navigation prompts on the HUD projection display are also available in the car. The UMO 8 has a winter package with heated windshield, windshield washer nozzles and steering wheel, as well as anti-corrosion protection.

"For UMO 8, we are adapting to Russian conditions in terms of climate and operating conditions. The EVM R&D center, together with Yandex, is developing a device that will be additionally integrated into the machine in order to improve navigation regardless of external conditions. Localization is also our priority, our plan includes work with telematics units, body electronics, multimedia, software, as well as with an electric motor, traction battery, etc.," said Ilya Rashkin, founder and CEO of EVM.

The cost of the car, its configuration and the start date of the sale have not yet been settled.

At the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) on June 5, the Russian car brand Esteo presented its new MX crossover. Acceptance of orders for the brand's debut model will open on its official website in the near future, representatives of the holding said. Production of the Esteo MX started on May 21 at the plant in Shushary as part of a partnership between AGR Holding and the Chinese company Defetoo.
