The State Duma proposed to expand the circle of recipients of an increase to the maternity capital

The State Duma (State Duma) proposed to expand the categories of families that can receive an increase in maternity capital at the birth of the third and subsequent children. The relevant bill was prepared by Yaroslav Nilov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, and Nina Ostanina, Chairman of the Duma Committee on Family Protection, Fatherhood, Motherhood and Childhood. The document was reviewed by TASS on June 8.

"For example, the first child was born in 2012, the second child in 2019. They have the right to maternity capital, the basic part, which arose in 2019. And now the third child is being born. According to the current version, nothing is allowed for a child," Nilov explained.

The new bill proposes to remedy this situation and provide an additional payment of 150,000 rubles "for full-fledged maternity capital."
