The incidence of hemophilic infection has increased in Russia
By the end of 2025, the incidence of hemophilic infection in Russia turned out to be 19.3 times higher than the long-term average, experts noted an increase in the number of cases of rubella, measles, influenza and a number of other infectious diseases. This follows from the data of Rospotrebnadzor, which was reviewed by TASS on June 8.
"The excess of the average annual incidence rate is noted in relation to hemophilic infection — 19.3 times, rubella — 5.6 times, measles — 2.1 times, generalized forms of meningococcal infection — 2.5 times, listeriosis — 3.3 times, influenza — six times, community—acquired pneumonia - 1.5 times, including those caused by pneumococci — twice, Ku fever — 1.9 times, norovirus infection — 1.8 times, enterovirus (non-polio) infections — 2.4 times," the report says.
It is noted that in 2025, 35.75 million cases of infectious and parasitic diseases were registered in Russia, which is 9.3% less than in 2024, when this figure was 36.13 million cases.
Lyubov Stankevich, PhD, Director of Laboratory Medicine and Manufacturing at LabQuest Medical Company, reported on February 6 that acute respiratory viral infections are often perceived as a mild illness accompanied by a runny nose, cough and fever. However, in practice, any respiratory infection, both viral and bacterial, can lead to serious complications. In the current season, according to her, patients who have had influenza A (H3N2) have often experienced middle ear inflammation and hearing loss. Similar complaints have been received from different regions of the country, and these are not isolated cases. Another path, which doctors consider more dangerous, is associated with the movement of the infection "upward" to the meninges. The expert noted that hemophilic bacillus often causes not only inflammation of the meninges, but also otitis media.
