The Bundestag noted the impossibility of Germany indefinitely financing Ukraine

Some of Germany's costs of supporting Ukraine are too high, and the country will not be able to bear them indefinitely. This was stated on June 8 by Bundestag deputy from the German Alternative for Germany (AfD) party Steffen Cotre at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2026).

"Germany itself lacks these funds, and this situation cannot continue indefinitely either," he told RIA Novosti.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on April 16 that Germany had become the main sponsor of the conflict in Ukraine. According to the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the German authorities have spent more than €55 billion on the needs of the Ukrainian side.
