Russian synchronized swimmers took gold at the European Championships
Russian synchronized swimmers won gold in all seven disciplines at the European Synchronized Swimming Championships, which took place in Luxembourg from June 4-7.
The overall result of the Russian national team is seven gold, one silver and one bronze medals.
The second place in the medal standings was taken by the Spaniards with four silver awards, the third by the French athletes with two silver and one bronze medals.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko announced on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) on June 7 that Russian athletes were allowed to participate in competitions with the national flag and anthem in 12 Olympic sports. He specified that adult athletes will be able to fully perform with national symbols in judo and wrestling, swimming, synchronized swimming, diving and water polo, sports and rhythmic gymnastics, trampolining, boxing, taekwondo and fencing.
