59 criminal proceedings have been initiated in Armenia on the facts of electoral crimes. This was reported by the agency on June 7. News.am with reference to the Investigative Committee (IC) of the country.

"43 cases have been registered in the regional investigative units, and 16 in the investigative units of Yerevan," the publication says.

According to the Investigative Committee, the largest number of criminal proceedings is related to Article 214 of the Criminal Code of Armenia ("Voting more than once or instead of another person"), 30 cases have been initiated into these violations.

Another 17 proceedings have been opened under Article 215 ("Violation of the secrecy of voting"). 210 ("Obstruction of the exercise of the right to vote or the right to participate in a referendum, the work of election commissions or the exercise of the rights or duties of persons participating in elections or referendums") Nine cases are under investigation. In addition, three criminal proceedings have been initiated under Article 314 ("Spreading false information about terrorism").

It clarifies that nine people were detained as part of the investigations, but the agency does not specify exactly what articles they are charged with or what acts they are charged with.

The election headquarters of the Armenia bloc reported that since the morning of June 7, law enforcement officers have been obstructing the electoral process. It was noted that members of the election headquarters were illegally detained for various reasons. In addition, cases of ballots being taken out of the polling station, open voting, and interference in voting are reported.

The head of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Armenia, Vahagn Hovakimyan, announced on the same day that the final turnout in the parliamentary elections in Armenia was 58.97%.
