Moldova is already effectively becoming a logistics hub for supplying the Kiev regime. This was announced by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2026).

"This only strengthens the processes of Moldova's rapprochement with NATO, despite the neutral status enshrined in the country's constitution. Moldova is already turning into a logistics center for supplies to Kiev," he said in an interview with TASS.

Galuzin stressed that Moldova's possible accession to Romania would only strengthen these trends.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on June 2 that Moldova's possible annexation to Romania would mean the absorption of the republic, rather than the unification of the two states. According to the diplomat, such a scenario could lead to the loss of Moldovan national identity, culture and traditions.

Moldovan President Maia Sandu allowed unification with Romania on April 28 in order to speed up the EU accession process. She added that the accession is possible without taking into account the unrecognized Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (PMR). Sandu confirmed her intention to prepare Moldova for EU membership by 2030.
