Mercuris predicted the collapse of Armenia under Pashinyan's policy

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is leading the country to collapse due to a mistaken course towards European integration. This was announced on June 6 by British military analyst Alexander Mercuris.

"I think it's going to collapse. In other words, it seems to me that Pashinyan is now so committed to this policy (European integration) that even if he is alone with himself, he may be wondering if the moment has come to change course, I think he will not be able to," the expert said on The Duran YouTube channel.

According to him, the current relative well-being of Yerevan rests solely on relations with Moscow, therefore, their rupture will turn into a disaster for the republic.

"The economy was very strong mainly due to economic ties with Russia," Merkouris summed up.

Dmitry Solonnikov, director of the Institute of Modern State Development, told Izvestia on June 6 that Pashinyan understands that if he loses the election, criminal proceedings will begin against him in Armenia. According to him, the current government in the country will use all available resources to maintain its positions in the upcoming elections.

Alexey Poltoranin, a correspondent for Izvestia, reported on June 6 that the political situation in Armenia had worsened amid consideration of the withdrawal of the opposition Free Armenia Party from the elections. The corresponding request was sent to the Central Election Commission (CEC) by representatives of the pro-Western political bloc Republika.
