- Reuters reported on the US desire to transfer Iran's assets to its allies in the Persian Gulf.
The American side intends to provide Iran's frozen assets to its allies in the Persian Gulf to cover possible damage from Tehran's actions. This was reported on June 6 by the Reuters news agency, citing a source.
"The US government will try to redirect Iranian assets to the Persian Gulf countries in order to restore and repair the damage caused by Iran in the future," the publication says.
According to the agency, the head of the US Treasury, Scott Bessent, instructed specialists to assess the damage already inflicted by Iran on its allies in the Persian Gulf.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced on June 2 that the United States has no plans to unfreeze Iranian assets or lift existing sanctions on the Islamic Republic as a bonus for signing a possible deal.
