The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported the death of two more soldiers during the fighting in Lebanon, the total number of Israeli casualties since the beginning of the latest round of escalation with the Hezbollah movement has reached 29 people. According to the command, Sergeant Ohad Yaari died during operational activities in southern Lebanon. The second victim was 23-year-old Captain Shahar Gamla from Kibbutz Natur, who died in hospital from injuries sustained during the fighting.
Both servicemen took part in the ground operation.
Al Jadeed TV channel reported on June 4 that the IDF had begun a partial withdrawal of troops from southern Lebanon.
The press service of the US State Department reported on the same day that Israel and Lebanon had agreed on a cease-fire. It was noted that the parties agreed on a course towards the accelerated creation of pilot zones in which the Lebanese armed forces would exercise full control.
