UAV attacks in the airspace over St. Petersburg are repulsed

The number of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) shot down over the territory of the Leningrad Region was 141. This was announced on June 6 by the governor of the region, Alexander Drozdenko. Drozdenko said that the number of downed drones was 141. In addition, the governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, announced on the same day that the city had been subjected to a large-scale attack by military UAVs. In connection with the current situation, the operational headquarters issued recommendations to the public.

Drozdenko reported four casualties as a result of the fire.

Four people were injured in a fire at a Ministry of Defense facility in the village of Bolshaya Izhora, Leningrad Region, caused by an attack by an unmanned aerial vehicle. According to the governor, four local residents sought medical help, one of them was hospitalized. All the victims, including the child, were provided with all necessary assistance.

On the same day, Drozdenko reported that a fire had occurred at a facility of the Russian Ministry of Defense in the Lomonosovsky district of the Leningrad Region. The cause of the fire was called a drone strike. In addition, the authorities decided to partially evacuate residents from nearby houses. According to Drozdenko, a temporary operational headquarters has been set up to manage the situation. In total, more than 600 people were evacuated from the protected area.

Drozdov later announced the elimination of the fire at the facility of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. The head of the region added that the evacuated residents will be able to return to their homes after about 17:00, the operational headquarters and the district administration will assist them in this.
