A businessman from India found opportunities at the SPIEF to establish trade with the Russian Federation

An Indian businesswoman found an opportunity to establish trade with Russia at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2026). The founder and managing director of AVPL International, Preet Sandhu, told the Izvestia correspondent on June 6 on the sidelines of the forum.

Sandhu is the director of an innovative high—tech company specializing in the production of drones. According to her, she initially went to SPIEF 2026 to contact other companies directly. However, in the process, she found out that there are huge opportunities in the context of agriculture.

"We have large-scale agriculture in India, and we have a huge agricultural drone market in India. And I am already conducting preliminary negotiations with several companies, in which we will exchange technologies and, possibly, provide our drones, which are very competitive in terms of quality and price," Sandhu said.

The entrepreneur added that she extended her trip to Russia by two days in order to fly to Moscow and during this time meet with businessmen whose contacts she received.

"So this is the result I got from SPIEF," Sandhu concluded.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the SPIEF 2026 plenary session yesterday that Russia and India have a very special relationship of trust. The Head of State recalled that Russia and India are working together to achieve positive results and share technologies, and called the decision of Russian and Indian companies to establish close cooperation the right one.
