Darchiev called the SPIEF a positive signal from the United States about Russia's willingness to cooperate.

Washington, following the results of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), should receive a signal about Moscow's commitment to partnership. This was announced on June 6 by Russian Ambassador to the United States Alexander Darchiev.

"I think they are positive. <...> We are committed to cooperation, including the continuation of the negotiation process. [Russian President] Vladimir Vladimirovich [Putin] conveyed everything very clearly," he said during a conversation with RIA Novosti on the sidelines of the SPIEF.

Thus, the ambassador answered the question about what signals the United States would receive following the results of the forum.

The head of the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia, Robert Agee, said on June 5 that the prospects for diplomacy between Moscow and Washington are good. At the same time, Agee urged not to get ahead of ourselves, stressing that the further development of events will depend on a combination of many factors.

On June 5, American journalist Christopher Helali reported that the session at the SPIEF 2026 planning meeting was extremely successful for the Russian leader, confirming the country's open position to cooperation. Uruguay's Minister of Agriculture Alfredo Fratti, in turn, noted that he was impressed by Putin's speech and the large number of countries represented at the SPIEF.
