The calculation could have destroyed Ukrainian drones in the border area of the Kursk region

The calculation of the mobile fire group (MOG) of the Bars-Kursk volunteer detachment as part of the North group of forces destroyed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the aircraft type of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Kursk border region. This was announced on June 6 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

On a daily basis, MOG calculations continuously monitor the air situation and prevent attempts by reconnaissance and attack drones to enter the territory of the region.

For these purposes, ZU-23 anti-aircraft installations are used to protect stationary and sedentary objects from attacks by tactical aircraft, attack helicopters and some types of drones, as well as machine-gun systems and interceptor drones.

"The ZU-23 shoots with a 23-mm caliber. It was developed for low-flying and high-flying purposes. Mainly helicopters, airplanes, and also works on ground targets. <...> The ZU-23 has great firepower due to its high—rate of fire," said the commander of the installation with the call sign Nix.

The most complex operations take place at night, when small-sized reconnaissance drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are launched first, followed by high-speed and long-range attack drones. During the next repulse of the UAV attacks, the calculation COULD have used the ZU-23 and successfully destroyed the enemy aircraft drone.

The used domestic means of communication and control ensure the accurate execution of tasks. Calculations continue daily operations to destroy UAVs, which is recorded by means of objective monitoring in real time.

Raid mission: Navy special forces armed with FPV drones

The new drones will help the units to defeat unmanned boats, sabotage groups and other threats on the approaches to the bases.

On June 2, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Uragan multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) of the 25th combined arms army of the Zapad group of forces destroyed an ammunition depot and an accumulation of manpower of the Armed Forces units in the Krasnolimansk direction in the area of the special military operation (SVO). It was clarified that a powerful salvo of 220-mm rocket-propelled high-explosive shells at a range of more than 20 km made it possible to completely eliminate all targets, which ensured the successful advance of the assault units and the capture of these lines.
