In Yerevan, a provocateur drove a car into a group of members of the Prosperous Armenia and Mother Armenia parties in the Shengavit administrative district. This was announced on June 6 by Iveta Tonoyan, the press secretary of Prosperous Armenia.

"The provocateur drove a car into a crowd of our teammates from the Prosperous Armenia and Mother Armenia parties, who were campaigning," she wrote on Facebook (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

According to Tonoyan, the incident shows the extent to which political intolerance and hostility towards opponents can reach.

In April, Russian leader Vladimir Putin called for pro-Russian forces to be allowed to participate in the elections in Armenia. He noted that some pro-Russian politicians are in prison in Armenia, despite the fact that they have Russian passports. In addition, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, more than 2 million Armenians also live on the territory of the Russian Federation.

Russian Security Council Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said on June 5 that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is trying to eliminate all competitors in the country's elections, so they cannot be considered legitimate. He added that even Washington and Brussels do not forgive such actions.
