Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev took part in a meeting of the Ministers of Internal Affairs and Public Security of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states, which was held in Bishkek. This was announced on June 5 by the official representative of the department Irina Volk.

"Today, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, General of Police of the Russian Federation Vladimir Kolokoltsev addressed a meeting of the Ministers of Internal Affairs and Public Security of the SCO member states. Delegations from 10 countries are represented at the forum: Belarus, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan," she said.

The Russian Interior Minister stressed that cybercrime is becoming more complex and international, which makes it necessary to coordinate the efforts of countries. He added that criminals are actively using neural networks for deepfakes, automating attacks on financial systems and using cryptocurrencies and shadow online platforms.

"Current and potential cyber threats are characterized by a high rate of adaptation, scale, and anonymity. This requires the SCO member states to develop coordinated proactive approaches," the minister said.

He stressed that despite the successes of law enforcement agencies, cybercrime and the number of attacks on critical infrastructure continue to increase. Transnational criminal groups also continue to operate, drug trafficking, illegal migration, as well as the financing of terrorism and extremism persist. Kolokoltsev also noted the achievements of the SCO countries in the fight against drugs and the inadmissibility of legalizing any kind of drugs.

According to the Russian Interior Minister, cooperation with the SCO member states in the law enforcement sphere is developing, and Russia is ready for maximum constructive cooperation in all areas.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on June 4 that the SCO was created as a tool for resolving border issues, but has grown and become a significant force. According to the head of state, the organization's activities have long gone beyond the initial tasks. Putin noted that practical work is underway within the SCO to develop economic cooperation between the participating states.
