Private Kursekov of the Russian Armed Forces destroyed an enemy drone with small arms fire

Andrei Kursekov, an ordinary soldier of the Russian Armed Forces (AF), discovered and shot down an enemy unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with small arms fire, which made it possible to provide the units on the front line with the necessary ammunition and materiel. This was announced on June 6 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

It is specified that Kursekov performed the tasks of transporting ammunition in the area of a special military operation. While moving along the route, he discovered an enemy drone. The private stopped and, taking a secretive position, destroyed the enemy's UAVs with small arms fire.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the downed drone exploded next to the car, causing it to catch fire. Realizing that a fire could lead to the detonation of ammunition, Kursekov promptly extinguished the fire, and then continued driving.

In addition, thanks to the competent and decisive actions of Private Dmitry Bakhtin, who performs combat missions as part of a howitzer self-propelled artillery installation, the firing points of the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were suppressed, a fuel depot and more than 15 Ukrainian militants in one of the districts of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) were destroyed.

The ministry indicated that during the execution of the firing task, the private's position was shelled by the enemy. Despite the danger, Bakhtin continued to complete the task, accurately adjusting the fire of the calculation on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The calculation successfully completed the assigned combat mission, which helped the further advance of the assault units, as well as eliminated the loss of personnel.

On June 4, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that under the leadership of Sergeant Major of the 2nd article of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Sergey Lipovtsev, more than 10 AFU militants were eliminated by mortar fire.
