A serviceman of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation who returned from Ukrainian captivity on Friday, June 5, spoke about the joy of returning to his homeland.

"At the moment, I'm over the moon that I've come to my native land. <...> It's worth a lot, even air alone. This is sacred, and our land is holy, our home, where relatives are waiting," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The fighter stressed that he had already managed to contact his family. According to him, his wife could not hold back tears when she found out that he was alive and was included in the exchange lists.

In addition, he expressed gratitude to the Russian government, the Ministry of Defense and all the participants in the negotiations who ensured his return home.
