The prospects for diplomacy between the United States and Russia are good. This was stated on June 5 by the head of the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia, Robert Agee, in a conversation with Izvestia correspondent Anton Zolotnitsky on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

"I believe that the very fact that Mr. [head of the U.S. Commission on Fine Arts] Rodney Cook came here, which is a good sign. I also think that we had really good talks yesterday, and this is also a very good sign," he shared.

At the same time, Agee urged not to get ahead of ourselves, stressing that the further development of events will depend on a combination of many factors.

"There are many good things in the history of relations between the United States and Russia, and we must work together to restore them," he added.

People's Artist of the Russian Federation Nikolai Tsiskaridze said on June 4 that cultural relations between Russia and the United States can be improved. Tsiskaridze commented on Cook Jr.'s visit to Russia. The artist was pleased to learn that the foreign guest himself expressed a desire to come.

Earlier in the day, Russian Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova said at the session "Russia – USA: Dialogue of Cultures" at the SPIEF that the revival of cultural exchanges between Moscow and Washington remains a constant task, provided equal and depoliticized cooperation. According to her, until recently, Russian and American cultural figures have implemented a large number of joint projects.
