Deputies from the Liberal Democratic Party made a proposal to expand the possibilities of the federal program "Pushkin Card" and change the use of the card, adding to the list of activities available for payment. This is evidenced on May 5 by the corresponding letter from the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party Leonid Slutsky to the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova.

"The existing list of events available for card payment needs to be supplemented with concerts of domestic pop music performers, rap artists, and major music festivals. At the same time, an important condition for the inclusion of such events in the program should be the predominance of Russian performers and domestic content in their repertoire," the letter says.

In addition, it is proposed to allow the purchase of books using the Pushkin Card, in particular, fiction, popular science and educational literature. This initiative, as noted in the Liberal Democratic Party, will contribute to the involvement of young people in the culture of reading and will have a positive impact on the book market.

Slutsky added that it is necessary to expand the age category of people who are eligible to use the card. According to him, many young people continue their professional education in universities, master's and postgraduate studies up to the age of 27-28, and they should also have the right to use state support in the field of culture.

In addition, the LDPR proposed to allow the transfer of the unused balance of funds on the card for the next year. This will enable people to spend money more efficiently and plan their expenses.

"The trends and preferences of the younger generation are constantly changing, and youth programs must keep up with this rhythm. Otherwise, such products will remain unclaimed — today, young people often simply do not find interesting activities available on the card, and unspent funds on the balance sheet simply burn up at the end of the year," Slutsky said.

Lyubimova announced on May 12 that almost 140 billion rubles have been allocated for the implementation of the Pushkin Map program in 2025-2030. According to the minister, since the launch of the project, about 12.5 thousand cultural institutions across the country have joined the program. Lyubimova noted that young people have already purchased 110 million tickets using the Pushkin Card. The total amount of funds received by cultural institutions through the program amounted to 55 billion rubles.
