From June 8, 2026, the Bank of Russia will determine the official euro-ruble exchange rate as of 15:30 Moscow time on the current business day, the press service of the regulator reported on June 5. At the moment, the publication of official exchange rates on the website of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation usually takes place before 18:00 Moscow time.

"Starting from June 8, 2026, the euro-ruble exchange rate will be calculated based on the dollar-ruble exchange rate and the euro-dollar exchange rate of the European Central Bank as of 15:30 Moscow time," the regulator said in a statement on its website.

The dollar-ruble exchange rate will continue to be formed according to credit institutions based on interbank conversion operations on the over-the-counter foreign exchange market.

The Bank of Russia noted that the changes are related to the low turnover of the euro/ruble pair in the domestic market, which reduces the reliability of the daily direct calculation of the exchange rate based on actual transactions.
