Four naval drones, over which the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost control, spontaneously exploded in the Black Sea. This was announced on June 5 by Romanian President Nicusor Dan.

"The information received in the morning from the Ukrainian side made it possible to evacuate the area under threat of an explosion. Currently, all four naval drones that got out of control of the Ukrainian armed forces spontaneously exploded," the politician wrote on Facebook (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

One of the devices exploded under the supervision of the coast guard near the port of Constanta. Two more pieces of equipment detonated about 145 km east of this city. The head of state did not specify the location of the spontaneous detonation of the fourth drone.

The incidents did not result in any casualties. There was also no significant damage to the infrastructure. Nikushor Dan stressed that the danger to the country's citizens and national security has now been eliminated.

On the same day, a marine drone detonated in the waters of the civil port of Constanta. As a result of the incident, no one was injured. Later, the prefect of the Romanian county reported that the drone that exploded was Ukrainian. He also added that there is no danger to the Romanian population: the three remaining drones could have gone to Bulgaria or Turkey.
