Kostroma Region and Sovcombank are implementing a new joint project in the region to support families with children

Governor Sergey Sitnikov and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sovcombank Sergey Khotimsky agreed on this at the SPIEF site.

According to the results of the first quarter of 2026, the Kostroma region entered the top regions that achieved the best results in reducing the level of social orphanhood. Maria Lvova-Belova, the Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights, presented a new rating of subjects for assessing the situation with social orphanhood to President Vladimir Putin.

One of the key areas of this activity is the implementation of a joint project with the charity foundation "Future Now", whose chairman of the Board of Trustees is Sergey Khotimsky, to support families with children in difficult situations. As a result, since 2013, the number of children in specialized state institutions in the region has decreased by more than six times, 96% of children return home.

Today, at a working meeting at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Sergey Sitnikov and Sergey Khotimsky agreed to implement a new joint project aimed at supporting families with children.

"We are grateful to the bank, we are grateful to Sergey Khotimsky for participating in these projects, they give real results. Today we discussed the issue of Sovcombank's participation in a new project related to demography, fertility and family support. At the end of July-August, we will present it and sign the agreement," said Governor Sergey Sitnikov.

"We are convinced that by joint efforts, using, among other things, the experience of cooperation that has developed between business, the administration and personally Governor Sergey Konstantinovich Sitnikov in working with orphans, we will be able to achieve significant success in demography. This is a path that begins with small but very specific steps to help specific families, so that there are more children, and families are happy to cope with their upbringing, rather than bearing the burden of difficult circumstances," said Sergey Khotimsky.
