Zakharova: Kiev wants to organize a nuclear catastrophe on an all-European scale
Ukraine continues to develop the idea of implementing a nuclear catastrophe on a pan-European scale. This was stated on June 5 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commenting on the increased attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP).
"It is obvious that Kiev continues to hatch the idea of organizing a nuclear catastrophe on a pan—European scale," she is quoted as saying on the agency's website.
Zakharova noted that President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky anticipates the end of his regime and therefore "they expect to drag as many innocent people as possible to the bottom."
On the same day, Rosatom CEO Alexei Likhachev reported that three engineers were injured in the Ukrainian Armed Forces strike on the Zaporizhia NPP, two of whom are now in serious condition. He clarified that the victims were rebuilding the station during the strike.
The day before, the Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out a massive attack using heavy UAVs at the nuclear power plant. In total, they inflicted over 20 blows. It was noted that the militants' target could be the territory of a thermal power plant, where energy infrastructure facilities are located.
