President of the Russian Cynological Federation Vladimir Golubev on Friday, June 5, told why dogs run away from dachas.

In an interview with Radio 1, the expert noted that dog owners often relax in the country and pay less attention to the safety of their pets, considering the fenced area to be reliable protection. However, this is what often causes animal escapes.

It is worth checking the fence regularly for cracks and dents, as well as assessing its height if the dog is able to jump over the fence. Gates and doors must be securely closed so that the pet cannot open them on its own.

The dog handler also recalled the prohibition of samogul. The dog should always be supervised, as there may be various dangers outside the site.

To increase the chances of returning a lost pet, the expert advised using not only a brand or chip, but also an addressee on the collar. An additional security measure can be a GPS tracker, especially when walking in the woods or outdoors.

If the dog regularly tries to escape, it is worth paying attention to the reasons for this behavior. The pet may lack activity, games, or new experiences. Therefore, it is important to provide him with sufficient physical and mental activity.

At the same time, the dog handler does not advise scolding the dog after returning home: the animal may perceive this as punishment for returning, and not for the escape itself.

Earlier, Golubev explained how to safely transport a dog in a car. He told RT that by law, a dog is considered cargo and should not interfere with driving or restrict visibility. The dog must not be allowed to move freely around the cabin or sit on the driver's lap.

Veterinarian Mikhail Shelyakov told RIAMO that before traveling outside the city with a dog, it is important to collect a first-aid kit for a pet. The drugs should include antihistamines and other medications, the website clarifies. kp.ru .

In April, veterinarian Taisiya Ilyina warned that toxic plants could threaten cats and dogs in the country. Lilies are particularly dangerous, which can cause severe poisoning in cats, as well as tulips, daffodils and some ornamental shrubs, including boxwood and rhododendron. 360.ru .
