The expert assessed the agreements between Ukraine and Hungary on Transcarpathia

Ukraine can make concessions to Hungarians in ensuring the rights of national minorities in Transcarpathia, because this issue is not critically important for Kiev. Alexander Dudchak, a leading researcher at the Institute of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), told Izvestia about this.

"There aren't many Hungarians, they don't make the weather in the country. Plus, Budapest has serious arguments up its sleeve like the right of veto in the European Union (EU). In general, it has long been clear that the main thing for the Kiev regime is that Russians should not receive any additional rights, and that in fact something can be allowed for the rest. Now we have another confirmation," he stressed.

Earlier, Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar said that Budapest had obtained from Kiev the restoration of the rights of ethnic Hungarians who live in Transcarpathia.

After that, details of the agreements appeared in the Hungarian media. It was reported that Hungarian children will be able to speak their language in schools with other students and teachers. In addition, representatives of the national minority will be able to address officials in Hungarian, and Hungarian symbols can be displayed at official events.
