Alikhanov named plans for the volume of production of Senat cars

The production of cars of the new Russian brand Senat will amount to several thousand units in 2026, and from 2027 it is planned to produce tens of thousands of cars. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Anton Alikhanov.

"We hope that they will be in demand both in the business segment, as a matter of fact, and will come to public procurement over time," he said in an interview with the Vesti news agency.

The Minister noted that work is currently underway to obtain all the necessary documents to launch production. Starting in 2027, the plant will produce cars of various modifications — not only the Senat 900, but also other models.

According to the head of the department, the full range of the car brand has not yet been definitively determined. Various proposals for the development of the site are being considered, including the full development of a platform for cars manufactured in Russia.

The presentation of the new Senat brand took place at SPIEF 2026 the day before. Within the framework of the forum, the start of car production was given at the former Toyota automobile plant in St. Petersburg Shushary. In the basic version, the Senate 900 will be a five-seater, its price will be 12 million rubles. The four-person VIP version will cost 12.5 million rubles. A prototype of an even longer Senat 1000 model was also presented at the forum.
