Putin called the aggressive policy of the European bureaucracy short-sighted

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a speech at the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2026) on June 5, called the aggressive policy of the European bureaucracy short-sighted.

"We see the turmoil the energy markets are experiencing...> How is the short—sighted policy of the European bureaucracy being implemented, which is accompanied by aggressive rhetoric and leads to a further loss of Europe's position in the global economy," he said.
