In the spring of 2026, demand for new SUV segment cars (crossovers and SUVs) increased by 21.6% in Russia, with the average price of a car in this segment amounting to 3.8 million rubles. Avito Auto experts told Izvestia about this on June 6.

Individual brands showed a more significant increase in demand — Exeed (+245%), Belgee (+224%), Jaecoo (+181%), Volkswagen (+168%) and Solaris (+161%). Among the specific models, the Belgee X70 (+153%), GAC GS4 (92.2%), and Haval Dargo (+83.5%) showed the greatest growth in demand, while Geely Atlas, Geely Monjaro, Solaris HC, Lada Niva Travel, Jaecoo J8, Haval H3, and Chery Tiggo 9 also recorded high rates.

According to experts, interest in high-tech Chinese brands (Exeed, Geely, Changan) continues to grow in Russia, and buyers are increasingly choosing locally assembled models such as Belgee, Solaris, and Lada. The most popular SUVs on the platform are Tenet, Lada, Geely, Exeed and Changan cars.

Among the specific models, the three most popular new SUVs on the platform are the Tenet T7 with an average price of 2.9 million rubles, Haval Jolion (2.6 million rubles) and Tenet T4 (2.4 million rubles). The top 10 also includes Lada Niva Travel and Niva Legend, Haval M6 Jaecoo J6, Exeed RX, Geely Monjaro and Jetour Dashing. The average price of some models decreased, among the leaders were the Belgee X70 (-11.6%, to 2.8 million rubles), Chery Tiggo 9 (-7.2%, to 4.5 million rubles) and Jaecoo J7 (-4.9%, to 3.2 million rubles).

"In the first five months of 2026, the market for new crossovers and SUVs grew by 33.5%. This rate is higher than in the whole new car market (+22.8%), which demonstrates the high demand for this segment of cars among Russians," the experts added.

The day before, it was reported that from January to May, the share of dealer ads increased from 13% to 16% in the used car market amid a reduction in the presence of private sellers. The increase in stocks of major players has led to an increase in discount offers. In five months, their number increased by 5% to 35%, and the median discount on a used car at a dealer reached 4.5%.
